A wooden washboard with two legs and ribbed scrubbing panel.

A tool used for handwashing clothing. Traditionally constructed from wood by the 20th Century metal and glass ridges were commonly used. Clothes are soaked in hot soapy water and then rubbed against the ridged surface.
