Shoes, Shoe Last and Shoe Horn HC172

A pair of black velvet high heel woman's shoes with a strap that buttons at one side. The sole is leather. Size 4. The last is made of metal with three different sized prongs. The shoe horn is made of brass and has a tiki on the handle.

Women's shoes in the 1920s became lighter and more delicate with the emergence of a pointed toe and the addition of straps. The last was used by shoemakers to mold and shape the shoe. The shoe horn is a tool to allow the user to put a shoe on more easily.
