Kerosene Iron HC49

A domestic kerosene iron made of chrome and painted iron. A round fuel tank is at the rear and has valves top and bottom.

Kerosene irons became popular towards the end of the 19th Century. They had advantages such as not requiring heating on a stove and they did not make clothes dirty. However by the 1920's they were over taken by the electric iron.
